It's all in the thrown together randomly details.
So, I'm sure that some of you have been wondering what Suit and Tie is like behind the scenes. How the movies are made and all that. Well, I decided to give a step by step analysis of how we work.
First there's the idea process. Normally one of us comes up with an idea for one joke that's pretty funny and then just work out from there.
We film all our movies with a little yellow DV Adventure Camera from Mustek that i got off the Internet for 67 dollars. It is unbelievable how many people think it's a toy.
Suit and Tie's official cameraman is Michael Malinen, who did a great job filming episodes 1 and 2. However, he's often not available, so we have sometimes used Sam Lewis (Episode 3, PSA 1), my sister (episode 3), whoever's around (all episodes), and oftentimes just ourselves (all episodes). But Michael is still the official guy.
After the filing comes the editing. For the Intro I edited it by myself and did a terrible job, so I handed the job over to Wil, who is much, much more adept at it then I am. Mostly we spend a night editing where I look over his shoulder and we both input (Episodes 1-3), but he also does a terrific job by himself (PSA 1).
So far (Intro-PSA 1) we have used the worst program on the face of the earth to edit, Windows Movie Maker 2. One time it crashed on us a literal 43 times. We hope that that soon changes.
After we get it all compiled and uploaded to YouTube then I have to put it on the website. I use three programs to run the website; Photoshop Elements, Macromedia FireWorks, and Macromedia DreamWeaver. I design the pages in photoshop, slice them up in fireworks, and do all the coding, technical stuff, and uploading from DreamWeaver. It's a pretty lengthy process that makes me want to hurt myself, but in the end it's worth it.
After that it's blatant advertising and hoping for the best.
Hope you enjoyed that look behind the scenes.
